The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), coordinator of the TRANSATLANTIC project, which operates this website, particularly cares about data protection and your privacy in general.

The processing of personal data takes place in line with Regulation EU 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the “protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data”, otherwise known as the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR effective in the European Union member states as of 25 May 2018.

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you of the type of personal data we collect and process, as well as the legal basis and purposes of such processing. The Privacy Policy also provides information about your rights as data subject.

Information We Collect

Log and Usage Information: such as browser type you use, hardware model, operating system, IP address, unique device identifiers, access times, pages viewed, links clicked, and browsing behaviour such as time spent, what site you came from, what site you visit when you leave us, and browsing behaviour.

How We Use Your Information

We use information we collect about you to provide, maintain, and improve our Services and other interactions we have with you. For example, we use the information collected to:

  • Respond to your comments and questions and provide customer service;
  • If you have indicated to us that you wish to receive notifications or promotional messages;

In addition, some pages on this site such as the Matchmaking Platform, provide the possibility to share your own data which will be accessible to all people registered on the platform. This information will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it.

Storage of Information in Belgium

Information we maintain will be stored on a Belgium-based server. If you live outside of the European Union, you understand and agree that we may transfer your information to the EU, and that EU laws may afford a different level of protection as those in your country.
